The Holly King

Two Holly Kings in the house! Editions from 2023 and 2021 (10.1 abv) These are big gingerbread imperial stouts. 2023 is malty and full while 2021 has been barrel aged and lightly soured for 2 years. Brewed in honor of the winter solstice and all the merriment of the season! (In ancient traditions, the Holly King represented the waning sun and the Oak King represented the return of the sun at the winter solstice. This illustration is the Holly King as embodied by the “Ghost of Christmas Present” in our family’s very favorite holiday tale.) Happy Yule!
